Jon was absolutely amazing!!!

I got connected with Jon by a pure accident (literally). I had a flat tire and was waiting for BCAA to tow me to the nearest Canadian tire. Jon saw me in my car with my hazard lights and was very gracious and offered to help. I changed my plans and told BCAA to tow me to his shop. This was also after 9pm when everyone was closed. He fixed me up in no time, then being that he is a VW specialist I mentioned a few more things that were giving me issues. He was very knowledgeable, knew exactly what he was talking about and educated me on a lot things. We set an appointment I dropped my car off for the day and when I got it back he took care of everything. Pricing was VERY REASONABLE.

Jon is a legend.

Let’s be honest, when you’re heading to a mechanic, it’s usually because something has already gone very wrong. That was definitely my situation. My car died multiple times in one week… honestly, more times than in my entire driving history combined.

I called Jon and explained what was happening. He took the time to troubleshoot over the phone and walk through what he suspected the issue might be. To save me money, we decided not to jump straight into replacing the fuel pump in case it wasn’t the culprit. He ordered the correct fuel filter (which, for my vehicle, was very specific) and made sure everything lined up properly.

After a test drive, we did what I jokingly call a “loser lap” around the block… and the car died again. Instead of adding stress to an already stressful situation, Jon came to the rescue and quite literally replaced the fuel pump on the side of the road like an absolute superhero. He then got the car safely back to the shop and finished the job properly.

What could have been a heavy, overwhelming experience was handled with calm, integrity, and genuine care. He didn’t just fix my car, he made me feel like everything was going to be okay.

After a really stressful situation involving a break-in and some unexpected car issues, I’m so grateful for Jon.

From the start, he was incredibly knowledgeable and patient, taking the time to explain exactly what was going.

What really stood out was how resourceful and honest he was. He was able to fix my trunk (which wouldn’t close, yikes!) using a part he already had on hand, and also repaired my door lock, which hadn’t been working properly (since it was picked). Everything was done thoroughly and with real care.

After such a frustrating and overwhelming experience, working with Jon completely changed things. He made the whole process feel manageable, and I truly felt looked after.

My wife’s car broke down and she had it towed to the dealership. The dealership charged a high fee for diagnostics and listed a bunch of work to be done that would have cost us thousands.
We had the car towed to Gordon’s VW and John fixed for $300.

What a gem of a human. The world needs more honest, trustworthy and kind mechanics like Jon. My car “Bullet”, a 2004 silver VW Jetta has some quirks. Brought her in because the alarm was going off intermittently due to a janky door caused by a hit and run. Jon fixed the alignment of the door that was causing the issue and replaced the latch with a used part, saving me money. He also explained things to me in a way I could easily comprehend and helped my bumper with a little screw facelift (also damaged in the hit and run) at no extra cost. So thoughtful. He managed to get this done in the time-frame promised which brought peace of kind as I had promised a friend and airport run favour 😅Thanks for everything you do. Highly recommend bringing your VW to Gordon's. Recently brought in my 2013 Golf as the EPC and Engine light started going off. He got me in within the week and fixed the problem in under a day. John seems honest and very knowledgeable with most of the maintenance issues on my daughter's Golf TDI. We took it there to have a timing belt and water pump done and he got us in and out in no time! He also noticed and fixed a safety issue for free, much appreciated.  Don't let the chaotic shop space discourage you... he seems pretty busy and focusing on helping his customers out in timely fashion. We will go backing again!
